10:45-11:30 | Flutter, what are Widgets, RenderObjects and Elements? Norbert Kozsir Flutter dev Flutter, what are Widgets, RenderObjects and Elements? How does Flutter turn widgets into pixels? Taking a look at the inner workings of Flutter and understanding the layers beyond the widgets-layer. We first take a look at how building an app using bare dart.ui looks like and how that relates to operations in OpenGL. After that, we introduce the first layer of abstraction, the RenderObjects. We then take a look at different RenderObjects inside the framework and understand how they work. Lastly, we investigate the connection between the well-known widgets and RenderObjects, the so-called Elements. We learn what the BuildContext actually is and how everything is connected. After gaining a good overview of the field, we write our very own RenderObject which implements some custom layout and paint algorithm. About Norbert Kozsir Norbert is a Flutter developer and computer science student. | Flutter for desktop - what is it good for? Dominik Roszkowski Flutter Developer Flutter for desktop - what is it good for?Flutter is capable to run on multiple form factors and operating systems. Although desktop support is still in experimental phase, there are some use cases where Flutter for desktop may be viable option for greenfield projects. The age of voice assistants is here with Alexa, the Google Assistant and others. But, as an Android developer, what can I do on my existing app in relation to conversational features? When we think about developing features that are voice-forward, we think about existing voice assistants such as Alexa and the Google Assistant. What about the fully-capable computers that we have with us all the time, our smartphones? Some moments on our day to day lives are very well suited for voice interactions: while in a car or cooking for example. Let's not forget that voice interactions are extremely accessible, not only in a physical way (for people with dexterity or motion impediments) but also in a cognitive way (I think we all have a loved one in our lives that really struggles with technology, and people from some emerging countries have very limited access to computers and are not at ease with technology). In this talk, I'll explain what integrations can be done on Flutter apps: - Flutter Packages that take advantage of APIs provided by Google or Apple - Other packages that integrate with other solutions such as ML Kit, TensorFlow and Dialogflow - 3rd-party solutions such as Porcupine, Snips, Amazon Lex, Snowboy and PocketSphinx - On Android: Integration with the Google Assistant via App Actions - On iOS: Integration with Siri (SiriKit, Siri Shortcuts) About Elaine Dias Batista Elaine is a Team Leader and Developer Advocate at SFEIR, where she works on projects consisting of mobile and voice technologies. She's passionate about the new interactions that we can have with technology. She's a GDE for the Google Assistant. |

15:45-16:30 | Server-Side Steroids for your Flutter App! Chirag Shenoy Senior Mobile Developer at ShareChat Chirag Shenoy Senior Mobile Developer at ShareChat Server-Side Steroids for your Flutter App!How cool would it be to have an app which is completely controlled by the backend ? No, I don't mean A/B tests or deciding which colour a button should be, or what set of features should be available for a certain user. I mean EVERYTHING being controlled from the backend. Be it all your app layouts, handling click events, what API calls to make, maintaining local databases, deciding how to display content on different devices, or even what screen to show next ! Customisation and flexibility on Steroids. This enables us teams to build, test and iterate on fully native Flutter applications - instantly. Using this, it is now possible to build and push new features and screens without updating your app from the PlayStore/AppStore ! And no, this is NOT using web views, or a PWA, or an inbuilt browser. JUST - PURE - FLUTTER. Join me, as we discuss how to architect a truly server side controlled app, building our own Markup and Parser using Flutter, creating reusable generic Widgets and Functions, which give you the ultimate flexibility to let your backend be your master and control your app ! No more app updates required ! About Chirag Shenoy Chirag Shenoy works as a senior mobile developer at ShareChat, which is India's largest vernacular social media platform with over 100 Million downloads on the Google Play Store. He also he believes in the power of Internet, Software, Design thinking and a Whiteboard in solving some of the problems existing around us – Be it behavioural problems like procrastination or complex problems such as water scarcity or illiteracy. | Implementing complex UI with Flutter Marcin Szałek Flutter developer and blogger Implementing complex UI with FlutterFlutter was created to make beautiful apps but do we really know how to use it? When coming across complex designs we might think that they are impossible to implement or too difficult to handle without weeks of development. In this talk, I will show you how you can approach complex designs and translate them into widgets. We will look closely at some mobile designs, break them down and figure out how to code them. About Marcin Szałek In love with Flutter since alpha release in 2017. Founder of Fidev - a software company specialized in Flutter. Co-organizer and speaker on Flutter Lodz Meetup. Strategic Domain-Driven Design techniques ensure your application is optimized to support business goals while identifying cohesive modules, known as bounded context which creates a maintainable, comprehensible codebase by isolating dependencies and describe business value. In this talk, I explore the idea of the ubiquitous language, bounded context, sub-domains while they are being implemented in a real application. All in all, You'll learn how I attempted to architect a (large-scale) Flutter application by technical solutions and appropriate methodology in order to have a sustainable app. About Majid Hajian Majid Hajian is a passionate software developer with years of developing and architecting complex web and mobile applications.
